Happy Fathers’ Day 2009

We had a great Fathers’ Day in Carlsbad. Uncle Shawn came over to see us, too. Me and Daddy put our heads together over and ice cream cake. Then, I helped Grandpa and Daddy open their presents. I was mostly interested in the bubble wrap, but I think they both know I love them and hope they had a Happy Fathers’ Day!

Off to Carlsbad

After the contest in Capitan we went to Carlsbad with Grandma and Grandpa – I even got to ride with them all the way there! Grandma had a new Mickey towel for our bath time – it is just my size! I spent some time teaching Grandpa how to use the computer – this older generation! Teddy and I took over Grandma’s little table and chairs to have our own tea party – it was milk, but Mama did let me have some cookies with it. The chair was just right but I had to be sure Teddy was in his before I could sit down. It is always interesting at Grandma and Grandpa’s House!

Hangin’ in Capitan

I got to go with Mama and Daddy to help at the District 4-H Contest in Capitan. Grandma and Grandpa came up to, so my main job was keeping them out of the way. They got me a cool new school bus to drive. We hung out at the cabins - me and Grandpa like nappin'. Ma and Pa even came over and spent the day with us. I let Pa borrow my hat.Grandma and Grandpa took me to Lincoln to go to the museum and learn all about Billy the Kid!At the 4-H BBQ I let Ms. Shannon chase me and it was big fun! I hope to go back to the mountains again soon – it was much cooler there!

Getting Ready for Fathers’ Day

Me and Mama thought long and hard about what to get as Fathers’ Day gifts for everyone. Daddy left a special one for Papa when we were in Oklahoma, but we still had Pa and Grandpa, not to mention Daddy! I helped wrap the gifts so they would be extra special. Shhh – it’s a surprise!

Holly’s Birthday

Thursday was Holly’s birthday, so Ms. Darcy took us all to the swimming pool! It was way fun, even after I rubbed sunscreen in my eyes on the way over!! I wear a special vest to keep me from sinking, but I still got dunked several times! I love the water. I didn’t want to get out. I even got to drink juice from the bottle like the big kids! After the pool closed we had cupcakes on the grass. Boy, were they good! I hope Holly has another birthday soon!!

Vacation Bible School Fun

It is that time of year again and I got to go with Mama to help out with Vacation Bible School (some – a couple nights I stayed home with Daddy.) It was lots of fun – I played with Brother Chip and Ms. Yvette. They even let me play the big piano. Me and Ms. Yvette spent time hopping around. On Friday night I graduated and went down front all by myself to get my certificate. Then me and Daddy helped Mama undecorate her craft room. I love VBS – all the kids talk to me and I get to play lots!!

Chef Denny

I will be a great cook – right now all I can reach are the pans, but someday I will be able to get actual food to put in them! Until them I will make beautiful music for Mama while she works in the kitchen!

The Thing

I promised to share pictures of the thing growing inside Mama. See what you think, but I still say it could be a monkey. I suppose it is kind of cute in a weird way - I liked watching it on the TV screen anyway. Here he/she is waving hello to me. Tomorrow I will have some photos of me playing in the pool, I am sure those will be much more interesting and colorful!

I'm the Big Brother!

Mama and Daddy say I am getting a baby for Christmas - I was actually hoping for a monkey, but Mama says we will take what we get! If all else fails I figure I can trade for a monkey (any takers?) The baby is due in December. We hope to know if it is a brother or sister in late July - either way, I AM THE BIG BROTHER. I went with Mama today and saw the baby in her belly! I will share some pictures with you as soon as I can.

My First Salon Haircut

While we were in Carlsbad Mama took me to get a real little boy haircut. Ms. Mary cuts Mama and Grandma’s hair, so I knew she would do a good job, but sitting still is a lot of work. I liked looking at the cape, but not wearing it. I liked driving the booster chair, but not sitting in it. Luckily Ms. Mary didn’t mind chasing me around the shop to cut my hair. At first I didn’t like it at all. I wouldn’t even take the strawberry malt Mama got me. As we went on, with Mama and Grandma’s help, I decided it wasn’t so bad (with a little strawberry incentive followed by shooting people with the water bottle and talking on Grandma’s cell phone). My hair was finally cut. I look quite dashing if I say so myself. Thank you, Ms. Mary!

My Visit to Carlsbad

This weekend Daddy had a meeting in Colorado, so Mama loaded me up and we went to see Grandma & Grandpa and Ma & Pa. They were ready for me! I have my very own backyard at Grandpa’s house with a swing set and sandbox. You should see me dig! They even set up a little pool for me to play in. Uncle Shawn came for dinner and we played and played, he is teaching me more sign language, but Mama says not to use it at Ms. Darcy’s. Too bad Mama forgot my swimming suit – not that that stopped me! I had a great time. Grandpa taught me to play the harmonica. Grandma let me help in the kitchen making French Toast for breakfast and doing the dishes. On Sunday morning we went to church with Ma & Pa and I got to sing in the choir with Grandma up in front of everybody! I was very disappointed when we got home and it was just me and Mama again. But I was glad to see Nolie and Oscar and the baby horse.

Mud Man

Most of you know that I like mud. Mama let me and Daddy go to the horse pens without supervision and guess what – I found mud! I was a very happy little boy, until we got back and Mama wouldn’t let me have dinner until she cleaned me up!
