A Place for Pumpkin

So Mama and Daddy are trying to make room for Pumpkin. He won’t be sharing my room and that’s for sure! So that means Mama has to get all her junk out of the spare bedroom. Daddy is working on putting a rack in the closet and that is where I come in. For some reason he doesn’t want to share his tools, but that is ok, I have my own! Maybe I will even get to help paint!

Dudin’ Up Dude

We have to make sure that Dude is all gussied up before he goes to live with Grandpa, so we trimmed his feet on Sunday. I really like all the farrier tools needed for this job and I was at the ready with the wheelbarrow just in case we needed it. I figured out that it was faster to go through the fence than to open and close the gates (but I still like to open and close the gates!) I even rode Dude around, but there aren’t any pictures this time – Daddy had to lead him and Mama had to hold me – I know how to hold on, but sometimes I still bail off! Dude is a fine horse, even if I do say so myself!

Cowboy Symposium 2009

Me and Mama and Daddy went to Ruidoso this weekend to meet Grandma and Grandpa for the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium. Uncle Shawn even got to visit us at night because he was there working. We like to go every year. Uncle Rex and Aunt Lynette come, too and this year Keeley and Mason were there! We had a cool cabin to stay in. I got to wear my hat and boots like a real cowboy. At the Symposium we saw lots of cool stuff. I cruised around some and walked some. I even got to ride on Grandpa’s shoulders for awhile. They have a rodeo just for kids, but I was too little this year – me and Daddy worked out my strategy for grabbing dollars off the goats, so when I turn three I am ready!! I also liked visiting with the pack donkey from the mule show. I can’t wait until next year when I can show Pumpkin the ropes!

My Pumpkins

Not the pumpkin in Mama's tummy, but real pumpkins! Mama got them to go on the porch and welcome fall. There are even two just my size. I am not suppose to carry the big ones, but that is ok, because I already figured out they roll! I like them so much that when I went to shut the door I put myself on the outside with the pumpkins!

Under the Wagon?

I have discovered a new game. Since Oscar always hides from me under the wagon in the backyard I had to train myself to go under as well. I can make it all the way across in just under 30 seconds. I practice repeatedly to improve my time and stamina. When it is time to race under your wagons I will be the champion. I tried to climb the wheels, but was not as successful.

Seriously, More Fair

Mama helped check in School Tours out at the Southern Fair, so one morning I went along, too. Miss Amy let me drive her golf cart and Miss Linda took me to see the tigers, so I guess it wasn't that bad. Then Ms. Darcy came and I got to go in the big stroller with my friends. We hung out in the 4-H building where it was nice and cool and we could roll around and get nice and dirty. We checked out the lamb show and one nice 4-Her let us pet his goat - I really liked the goat. Then we had lunch at the Desert Kitchen before Mama went back to work. It was a fun day, but I am glad fair season is done!
