Baby John

Right before Christmas (December 23 to be exact) – Mama and Daddy went to the hospital to get pumpkin. I went to stay with Uncle Rex and Aunt Lynette – we had big fun! Then Grandma and Grandpa came and took me home. I got to visit the hospital and eat in the cafeteria with Daddy – they wouldn’t let me see Pumpkin or Mama – but Uncle Shawn came and had Christmas with me on Christmas Eve. Mama and Daddy made it home before Santa that night. I was very excited to see the new baby! His name is John and he is my little brother. I can’t wait to teach him things. I am trying to be a good big brother – I even share my toys (some of them). I got him his first teddy bear and he brought me a Thomas the Tank Engine that really goes. Maybe a little brother won’t be so bad – we’ll see. Since there are two Turner Boys now, Mama is retiring my blog so John and I can share (I here that word a lot these days). Anyway – our new blog is dandjturner@blogspot.com – please update your favorites and other links to stay posted on me and John. I appreciate everyone that has kept up with me so far!

Waiting for Pumpkin

Pumpkin has still not made an appearance. Mama is getting tired of waiting, but I figure everyday he waits is another day I am king of the castle. I helped Mama put up the Christmas tree. Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Shawn and Ma and Pa are all coming for Christmas and we may get to go over to Uncle Rex and Aunt Lynette’s to play (depending on Pumpkin). I am getting ready for a fun Christmas – even if my new brother misses it this year.

Cousin Mason’s Birthday

I got to go to a big kid party! Cousin Mason turned 4 on Friday and they had a party at Peter Piper on Saturday. Mama took me and it was too cool! He had a Handy Manny theme and I got a goody bag toy bring home. All the kids got tokens for games and stuff – even me! I liked the fork lift and the red car the best. I tried to drive the Cat in the Hat car, but I really didn’t like the cat. The carousel was fun, too. The best part was spending time with family! I can’t wait for the next birthday! Having fun is alot of work!

Christmas Party

We had our annual Christmas Party at Ms. Darcy’s house. I got to meet Holly’s Papa Rex and play with all my friends. We decorated cookies with frosting and candy. Then we had presents! I took everyone a pillow with a special case me and Mama made. I really did help – I like the sewing machine. I found the lever to release the presser foot so every time Mama finished a seam she had to put the foot back on. I would laugh the whole time she was sewing. I even have a special John Deere one left under the tree for Pumpkin. I can’t wait for more Christmas.

I am the King

I always thought I was royalty, but know I know. Mama & Daddy bought me this great little throne. It rocks and everything. I love to sit in it - sometimes I get to have snacks at the coffee table. I have even figured out how to use it to chill out and relax!

I Like Manly Haircuts

Though I have had several haircuts, this week Mama and Daddy took me to a real barber shop - they had old wooden toys with real barber chairs and a stiped pole outside. When it was my turn I climbed right up in the chair all by myself!Mama held my hand to start with, but soon I was on my own. Daddy held my head still to make sure the cut was straight, but I was the model haircutee! I look great - if a little too grown up for Mama's taste!

Party Time

Everyone is getting ready for Pumpkin. The Church gave a shower for Mama on Saturday. I got to go along and Grandma, Ma and Aunt Lynette all came, too. I helped open the presents. Pumpkin got some good stuff - there was even one for me with Horse Shoe Slipper that make gallop sounds. I tried out the blanket Ma made Pumpkin and it works pretty good. That night Ms. Darcy came over and we had a spa party for Mama. Holly and Eli got to come and play with me while they partied. We still don't know when Pumpkin will get here, but now at least he has his own stuff!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow

We got snow in Las Cruces today! I had a little fever last night, so Mama kept me home. When we got up we had a great surprise. Daddy took me to the window to see a white blanket all over our back yard. He asked me what it was and I told him – MESS. That is what it looked like to me! Before Daddy left, he gave me a snowball, but it broke – then there really was a mess, but me and Mama cleaned it up – with some help from Oscar and Nolie. I hope get another chance to play in the snow!

Thankful for Family

We stayed with Uncle Jeff as usual, but we got to visit lots of other family while we were in Oklahoma. We spent Thanksgiving at Papa and Nana’s with my cousins on Nana’s side. We played at Granny Nelly’s – that is where I got to play with Jasper - he even took me out to see the cows. And I played with the goats I got at Atwoods with Granny and Daddy. It was great to see everybody. Granny Sharon got me new books and a stick horse to race. Then there are all the Christmas presents we brought home from Papa & Nana and Aunt Judy! I am so glad everyone in Oklahoma loves me! I guess they will love Pumpkin, too.

Braums and More Braums

So Daddy loves Braums. We went every day (sometimes twice a day) while we were in Oklahoma. Sometimes I shared ice cream, but sometimes I got my very own. One word of warning – the junior cone is not so junior, but it was good. On the way home we stopped at the last Braums (in Amarillo, TX) and put 10 cartons of ice cream in the cooler to bring home for the holidays.

Quack, Quack

Mama and Daddy took me to the park to see the ducks while we were in Oklahoma. I loved them!! We took some bread, but the sign said not to feed them. I figure I can’t read, so all’s fair, but Daddy said no, so we just played with them. Then I got to play on the slide and the monkey bars. Mama even went down the slide with pumpkin – I was there to catch her at the bottom!

Yeah, Oklahoma!

Me and Mama and Daddy went to Oklahoma to visit and celebrate Thanksgiving. We did some shopping at my favorite store – Atwoods. I found this bone that I thought Oscar would likeI could barely hold it. Then I learned about the roping dummy you put on hay. Daddy calls this shot taking the bull by the horns. I even helped sort the horseshoes by size. I got to try out everything – the lawn tractors. The go carts. The bouncy bull. I even got a little horse brush to comb my hair with. I combed Mama’s hair, too – it was pretty.

Happy Birthday, Grandpa

Today is Grandpa's Birthday, but since we were there last weekend we celebrated early. He had asked for a Drywaller's Square - this was a cool present because it was big enough to measure me with! I hope Grandpa has a great birthday, even though I can't be there.
